I want to move to Maui, what do I do for transportation?

I have always wanted to live in Maui for a few years when I graduate from college. Graduation is getting close and I was wondering, when I get there and I get settled in my job and such, what will I do for transportation? I would prefer to have a vehicle of my own as I understand that public transportation on the island is not very reliable. I obviously couldn’t afford to have my car shipped. So, could I lease a vehicle for a few years? Is that even possible?

You could definitely lease when you move here. When I arrived I leased for a year and then bought a car.
